WHEN ART GETS WIRED
Folsom High School Student Art Show
Sacramento, California

Students earned cash prizes for competing in a school art show. Folsom High School in Sacramento, California held a contestfor all the 3-D art students. Lori Emmington, teacher of the class, challengedher students to make wire sculptures.  "I asked if they [OOK Art HardwareCompany] would be willing to sell wire to Folsom High School at a discounted price.... The response from the company was better than expected." OOK donated almost 20,000 feet of wire and a set of wire cutters. The President of OOK suggested the school have a wire sculpture competition with a prize of $500 in cash prizes. Nearly 300 students and parents came out to the award ceremony to view 170 different wire sculptures. Awards were given to Amy Yeager,Courtney Muro, Elizabeth Cushman, Kristina Greenshields, Matt Abfalter. Travis Rameriz, Ed Briseno, and Dustin Ingraham.
